Trying to 'de-throne' the elite

I read the other day where the Duke University lacrosse players who had been falsely accused were seeking a civil action suit against the City of Durham, N.C., its police department and district attorney Mike Nifong for the witch-hunt that had tried to incriminate the members of the lacrosse team.

Sadly, although justice is finally being done, this whole scenario demonstrates how our society is a truly corrupt society.

In so many so-called civil action suits, the rich are targetted simply because they are rich. Similarly, the well-educated are the target of abuse simply because they have worked hard at obtaining an excellent education.

In many ways, what has happened in our society is no different than what has always happened in democracies. For example, the nobleman Cleisthenes, who founded the original democracy at Athens was, at the end of his life, ousted from that very same democracy. Tyranny of the majority as they say.

At a world level, I know of one prominent Catholic priest who shared how when he has spoken to the United Nations on behalf of the Pope (he is a Law Professor), he was literally 'shouted down' by rabid feminist ideologues who are opposed to all things Catholic.

It is somewhat cruelly ironic that very often the 'elite' of the world's leadership are devoted to doing good, yet are attacked, libelled, and often the target of severe lawsuits. Bill Gates tries to help children in Third World countries, yet the Europian Union cries out against his supposed 'monopolistic practices' as head of Microsoft. Similarly, Duke University is one of the top schools in the land, yet a lesser-credentialled district attorney such as Mike Nifong, smelling blood and his opportunity at 'fame,' tried to ruin the lives of several young men forever.

Folks, I have seen such abuse of power against the elites of our society, and sadly this type of covetousness ('Thou shalt not covet your neighbor's goods or wife') is tearing our society limb from limb. Whether it was a young American soldier being denied top secret security clearance 'just because' he was an elite Green Beret type physical specimen OR the Duke University lacrosse case, sadly, rather than elevating our 'best & brightest,' those who have clung to power in our fallen society have ended up destroying the very society that we love.

Well, friends, all I have to say is 3.6 GPA from a top 10 liberal arts college, 3.6 GPA MDiv, 3.9 GPA ThM, and 3.74 GPA PhD studies. The MDiv and ThM are from Duke by the way . . .

Blessings in Jesus,
